The main systems
Forward collision warning watches for slow or stopped traffic ahead. Blind spot monitors the lanes beside you. Lane departure alerts fire when you drift without signaling.
Sensitivity
Most vehicles let you set Early, Medium, or Late thresholds. Early alerts feel busy but give the most reaction time. Late alerts stay quiet until a hazard is closer.
Living with the alerts
If a system alerts constantly in the same spot, check for sensor obstructions, then adjust sensitivity. Consult your owner manual before disabling anything.
